About Us
In 1987 a group of seven entrepreneurs owning and operating small and medium chemical and pharma industries came forward to promote Jeedimetla Effluent Treatment Limited to set up the first Common Effluent Treatment Plant to cater to the needs of waste management by small and medium industries located in Jeedimetla Industrial Estate (JIE), on the outskirts of Hyderabad in particular and other industrial estates in general.
The plant started operating during April, 1989 on "Polluter To Pay Principle"
The objective is to receive the industrial effluent from the small and medium industries for treatment and disposal to the sewers of the local authority. In this case Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) for which the disposal cost of around Rs.6 - 7 lakhs was paid to HMWS&SB.
Prior to setting up of JETL, the effluent from the industries was discharged into open Nala which is flowing through JIE.
The CWWTP, JETL is spread over 20 Acres of land. Greenary is developed in 4 Acres. Treatment facility was commissioned in April, 1989 at the cost of Rs. 46 Lakhs to treat 350 m3/day of effluent using Activated Sludge Process.
During 1998, the CETP was converted into a Combined Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP) for treating industrial waste and the domestic sewage in a combined plant before discharging to the sewers of HMWS&SB.
Wastewaters are divided into two groups Viz.
1. Low Total Dissolved Solids Wastewater [LTDS Stream - TDIS <= 5000 mg/L]
2. High Total Dissolved Solids wastewater [HTDS Stream - TDIS > 5000 mg/L]
As per the direction of APPCB, JETL is treating High TDS (HTDS) and Low TDS (LTDS) wastewater. The present plant capacity is :
For LTDS Wastewater Treatment:
Combined Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP) - 5000 m3/day (LTDS - 1500 m3/day, Sewage - 3500 m3/day)
For HTDS Wastewater Treatment:
Multiple Effect Evaporators - 2 Nos. x 200 m3/day = 400 m3/day
